  • Candidate has to attempt FIVE questions in all.
  • Question Nos. 1 and 5 are compulsory and out of the remaining, THREE are to be attempted choosing at least ONE question from each Section.

(a) एक धरन AB, जिसकी लम्बाई 2 m है, A बिन्दु पर कब्जे के द्वारा लगी है तथा B बिन्दु पर एक डोरी के द्वारा, जो घर्षणरहित दो घिरनियों (P, Q) के ऊपर से होकर गुजरता है, आलम्बित है, एवं 50 kN का भार उठाए हुए है, जैसा कि नीचे चित्र 1(a) में दर्शाया गया है। x दूरी की गणना कीजिए, जबकि 100 kN का भार धरन पर लगाया गया है तथा धरन साम्यावस्था में क्षैतिज स्थिति में रहती है। साथ ही कब्जे वाले सिरे पर प्रतिक्रिया ज्ञात कीजिए।
A beam AB of length 2 m, hinged at A and supported at B by a cord which passes over two frictionless pulleys (P, Q), carries a 50 kN load as shown in Fig. 1(a). Determine the distance x, where 100 kN load is located on the beam, if the beam is to remain in equilibrium in horizontal position. Also determine the reaction at the hinged end.
