Q2. તમારી ભાષામાં લખો: 12 × 5 = 60 જ્યારે એક ખેડૂત ખેતરમાં કામ કરે છે ત્યારે તે અન્ન અને ઉદ્યોગો માટે કાચા માલનું ઉત્પાદન કરે છે. કપાસ જ કાપડનાં કારખાના, વિદ્યુતશાળ (Electric loom) માં કપડાનું રૂપ ધારણ કરે છે. ગાડીઓ દ્વારા સામાનને એક સ્થાનેથી બીજે સ્થાને પહોંચાડવામાં આવે છે. આપણે જાણીએ છીએ કે કોઈપણ દેશમાં એક વર્ષમાં ઉત્પન્ન થયેલી તમામ વસ્તુઓ અને સેવાઓનું કુલ મૂલ્ય જે તે દેશનું કુલ સ્થાનિક ઉત્પાદન કહેવાય છે. આપણને નિકાસ માટે મૂલ્ય પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે અને આયાત માટે આપણે મૂલ્ય ચૂકવવું પડે છે. જેમાં આપણે જોઈ શકીએ છીએ કે ચોખ્ખી આવક ગુણાત્મક હોઈ શકે છે અથવા ઋણાત્મક હોઈ શકે છે અથવા શૂન્ય પણ હોઈ શકે છે. જો આપણે પ્રાપ્ત આવકનો સરવાળો કરીએ તો આપણને જે તે વર્ષ માટે દેશનું કુલ સ્થાનિક ઉત્પાદન પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે. કુલ રાષ્ટ્રીય ઉત્પાદનમાં યોગદાન આપનારા તમામે તમામ ક્રિયાકલાપોને આપણે આર્થિક પ્રવૃત્તિઓ કહીએ છીએ. આર્થિક ક્રિયાઓમાં જોડાનારા તમામ વ્યક્તિ શ્રમિક કહેવાય છે. ભલે તેઓ ઉચ્ચ કે નિમ્ન કોઈપણ સ્તરે કામ કરતા હોય. જો આમાના કેટલાક લોકો બિમાર, ઘાયલ હોવા જેવા શારીરિક કષ્ટ, ખરાબ વાતાવરણ વાર-તહેવાર કે ઉત્સવોને કારણે અસ્થાયી રૂપે કામ ઉપર ન આવી શકે તો પણ તેમને શ્રમિક જ માનવામાં આવે છે. આ પ્રવૃત્તિઓમાં જોડાયેલા મુખ્ય શ્રમિકોને સહાય કરનારાને પણ શ્રમિક જ માનવામાં આવે છે. સામાન્ય રીતે આપણે એવું વિચારીએ છીએ કે જેને કામ કરવા બદલ નિયોજક દ્વારા ચૂકવણી કરવામાં આવે છે તેને શ્રમિક કહેવામાં આવે છે. પરંતુ એવું નથી. જે વ્યક્તિ સ્વ-નિયુક્ત હોય છે તે પણ શ્રમિક જ હોય છે.
