Q2. ಸರಳ, ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ : 12×5 = 60 ಜೀವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂತಾನೋತ್ಪತ್ತಿ ಗುಂಪುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯವು ವಿಶ್ವದ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಂಶಾವಳಿ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಯಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳು ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪರಿಸರವೂ ಸೇರಿದೆ. ಇಂದು ಈ ಜೀವವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯು ಗಂಭೀರ ಅಪಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದಂತೆ ಉಷ್ಣವಲಯದ ಅರಣ್ಯನಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರಿಂದಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಅಂದಾಜು ಒಂದು ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಿ 5 ರಿಂದ 10 ರಷ್ಟಾಗಿದ್ದು ಉಷ್ಣವಲಯದ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಜೀವ ಜಂತುಗಳು ಮುಂದಿನ 25 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಶ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ವಿನಾಶದ ಬಿಕ್ಕಟ್ಟು ಉಷ್ಣವಲಯದ ಅರಣ್ಯಗಳಿಗಷ್ಟೇ ಸೀಮಿತವಲ್ಲ. ನೀರಿನ ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ಕೃತಕವಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ನದಿಗಳು ಕೂಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೊಸ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದೇಶಿ ಜೀವ ಜಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಾಗರದ ದ್ವೀಪಗಳಂತೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಹಲವು ವಿನಾಶಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಭಯದ ವಾತಾವರಣ ಉಂಟಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಹಾಗೇ ಉಳಿದಿದೆ.
