  • There are EIGHT questions divided in TWO SECTIONS and printed both in HINDI and in ENGLISH.
  • Candidate has to attempt FIVE questions in all.
  • Questions no. 1 and 5 are compulsory and out of the remaining, any THREE are to be attempted choosing at least ONE question from each section.
  • The number of marks carried by a question (part is indicated against it.
  • Answers must be written in the medium authorized in the Admission Certificate which must be stated clearly on the cover of this Question-cum-Answer (QCA) Booklet in the space provided.

Draw the free body diagram for lower and upper parts of the system. Calculate all reactions for the figure shown below.

(b) 16 mm की पट्टिकाओं को आपस में एकल रिवेट चढ़ाव जोड़ द्वारा निम्नलिखित तरीकों में से एक के द्वारा जोड़ा गया है । परिकलन कीजिए कि दोनों में से कौन-सा तरीका ज़्यादा मज़बूत जोड़ प्रदान करेगा :
(i) 24 mm रिवेट 60 mm के अंतराल पर
(ii) 30 mm रिवेट 90 mm के अंतराल पर
दिया गया है : pt = 150 \text MPa, ps = 102.5 \text MPa, pb = 236 \text MPa 16 mm plates are joined together by single riveted lap joint in one of the following ways. Calculate which of the two ways will give a stronger joint :
(i) 24 mm rivets at 60 mm pitch
