- उसकी शोभा, उसकी श्रीसम्पन्नता, उसकी मान- मर्यादा उसके साहित्य ही पर अवलम्बित रहती है ।
- जाति–विशेष के उत्कर्षापकर्ष का, उसके ऊँच–नीच भावों का, उसके धार्मिक विचारों और सामाजिक संघटन का, उसके ऐतिहासिक घटनाचक्रों और राजनैतिक स्थितियों का प्रतिबिम्ब देखने को यदि कहीं मिल सकता है तो उसके ग्रन्थ-साहित्य ही में मिल सकता है।
- सामाजिक शक्ति या सजीवता, सामाजिक अशक्ति या निर्जीवता और सामाजिक सभ्यता तथा असभ्यता का निर्णायक एकमात्र साहित्य है ।
- जिस जाति–विशेष में साहित्य का अभाव या उसकी न्यूनता आपको दीख पड़े, आप यह नि:सन्देह निश्चित समझिए कि वह जाति असभ्य किंवा अपूर्णसभ्य है ।
- जिस जाति की सामाजिक अवस्था जैसी होती है, उसका साहित्य भी ठीक वैसा ही होता है ।
- जातियों की क्षमता और सजीवता यदि कहीं प्रत्यक्ष देखने को मिल सकती है तो उनके साहित्य रूपी आईने में ही मिल सकती है।
- इस आईने के सामने जाते ही हमें यह तत्काल मालूम हो जाता है कि अमुक जाति की जीवन–शक्ति इस समय कितनी या कैसी है और भूतकाल में कितनी और कैसी थी।

Q3. है तथा समृद्धि प्राप्त करता है । वास्तव में इच्छा, असन्तोष, लोभ आदि के कारण समाज में शोषण, कुटिलता, अत्याचार, भोगवृत्ति एवं अशान्ति को प्रोत्साहन मिला है। लोभ के कारण एक मिल खोलकर शोषण की चक्की चलाई जाती है। हमें इच्छाओं का दमन नहीं करना है, बल्कि उनका उदात्तीकरण करना है, शमन करना है, उन्हें स्वस्थ दिशा देनी है । सत्पुरुष कर्तव्य भावना से प्रेरित होते हैं, आदर्शों से प्रेरणा प्राप्त करते हैं एवं निःस्वार्थ तथा इच्छामुक्ति होकर भी धीरे-धीरे साहसपूर्वक कर्म करते हुए उन्नति को स्वतः प्राप्त होते हैं। आदर्शों की कीमत पर, आदर्शों को छोड़कर उन्नत पद प्राप्त करना सत्पुरुषों को शोभा नहीं देता। सत्पुरुष उज्ज्वल भविष्य के लिए योजना बनाकर प्रयत्न करते हुए महोच्च आदर्शों को आँखों से ओझल नहीं होने देते। यदि साधक पदोन्नति, धन अथवा सत्ता प्राप्त करता है तो व्यक्तिगत इच्छा की तृप्ति के लिए नहीं प्रत्युत परोपकार के लिए, मानवमात्र की सेवा के लिए, ईश्वर की प्रसन्नता के लिए । यही है इच्छाओं का उदात्तीकरण । साधक का कर्तव्य है कि अपने और समाज के भले के लिए व्यक्तिगत इच्छाओं से ऊपर उठ जाए । उपर्युक्त गद्यांश का उचित शीर्षक लिखिए। (क) 2 इस गद्यांश में लेखक का उद्देश्य क्या है ?
