(a) حتیٰ کہ چند ہزاروں سال قبل انسان محض شکاری کی حیثیت سے تھا۔ کم از کم پھروں کے زمانے تک آتے آتے اس نے زراعت کی جانب اقدام نہیں کیا تھا۔ دور دراز کے علاقوں میں گھوے بغیر وہ زمین جوت کر لینی ٹھیتی باڑی کے ذریعہ اپنی روزمرہ زندگی کی فلاح کے قابل ہوا اور اس کی ترقی میں لگا رہا۔ یہاں تک کہ آج وہ نسبتاً اس قابل ہو گیا کہ پہلے سے بہتر اور ترقی یافتہ بن چکا ہے لیکن جہاں تک سمندروں کا تعلق ہے تو اس کھمن میں آج بھی اس کی حیثیت ایک شکاری کی ہی ہے۔ وہ مچلیاں اور ان کے سات دوسرے آنی جانوروں کو کپڑتا ہے لیکن اس صورت میں اس کی اپنی زندگی اور روزی چلتی رہے بے وجہ نہیں۔ اب تک آنی جانوروں کے ذریعہ اسے بہت زیادہ مقدار میں حیاتین اور پروٹین ملتی رہی ہے۔ لہٰذا کہہ سکتے ہیں کہ آج کے دور میں وہ کھیتی کے ذریعے ہی یہ حیاتین اور پروٹین حاصل کر لیتا ہے۔ گویا دونوں ایک دوسرے کی ٹجرپائی کرتے ہیں۔ تاہم بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی اور اس میں روزافزوں ترقی انسان کو جس مقدار میں سمندر سے پروٹین کی ضرورت ہوگی جس کے زیرِ اثر اس کی پھیل بھی شاید خطرے میں پڑ جائے لہٰذا اس کی ترویج کے لیے انسان کو کم از کم اس کی یحیل کی خاطر قدم اٹھانے ہوں گے۔
