  • इसमें आठ प्रश्न हैं जो दो खण्डों में विभाजित हैं तथा हिन्दी एवं अंग्रेजी दोनों में छपे हैं।
  • उम्मीदवार को कुल पाँच प्रश्नों के उत्तर देने हैं।
  • प्रश्न संख्या 1 और 5 अनिवार्य हैं तथा बाकी प्रश्नों में से प्रत्येक खण्ड से कम-से-कम एक प्रश्न चुनकर तीन प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिए।
  • प्रत्येक प्रश्न/भाग के लिए नियत अंक उसके सामने दिए गए हैं।
  • प्रश्नों के उत्तर उसी प्राधिकृत माध्यम में लिखे जाने चाहिए, जिसका उल्लेख आपके प्रवेश-पत्र में किया गया है, और इस माध्यम का स्पष्ट उल्लेख प्रश्न-सह-उत्तर (क्यू॰ सी॰ ए॰) पुस्तिका के मुखपृष्ठ पर निर्दिष्ट स्थान पर किया जाना चाहिए।

  • There are EIGHT questions divided in two Sections and printed both in HINDI and in ENGLISH.
  • Candidate has to attempt FIVE questions in all.

(a) एक बहुमंजिला भवन के तहखाने के हौज से खुली छत के हौज तक 20 kW मोटर से जल पम्प किया जाता है। खुली छत के हौज की मुक्त सतह, तहखाने के हौज से 45 m ऊँची है। यदि जल की प्रवाह दर 0.03 m3/s हो, तो प्रक्रिया में घर्षण के प्रभाव के कारण तापीय ऊर्जा में बदलने वाली यांत्रिक शक्ति की गणना कीजिये। गणना में बनी मान्यताओं को लिखिये।
Water is pumped from the basement tank of a multistorey building to the terrace tank by a 20 kW motor. The free surface of the terrace tank is 45 m higher than the basement tank. If the flow rate of water is 0.03 m3/s, determine the mechanical power that is converted to thermal energy during the process due to friction effect. Write the assumptions made in the calculation.

(b) एक पराध्वनिक सम-एन्ट्रॉपिक प्रवाह के लिये दर्शाइये कि प्रवाह क्षेत्रफल में वृद्धि, प्रवाह गति में वृद्धि तथा दाब में हास के साथ होती है।
Show that for a supersonic isentropic flow, an increase in flow area is accompanied by an increase in flow velocity and a decrease in pressure.

(c) एक आदर्श साधारण गैस टरबाइन चक्र का दाब अनुपात r तथा ताप अनुपात t है, जो कि चक्र के अधिकतम तापमान तथा चक्र के न्यूनतम तापमान का अनुपात होता है, तथा विशिष्ट ऊष्माओं का अनुपात y है। दर्शाइये कि विशिष्ट कार्य उत्पादन अधिकतम तब होगा जब कि दाब अनुपात इस प्रकार का हो कि सम्पीडक निर्गम तथा टरबाइन निर्गम तापमान बराबर हों। दोनों दाब अनुपातों के व्यंजकों की t तथा y के फलनों के रूप में व्युत्पत्ति भी कीजिये, जहाँ स्थिर तापमान अनुपात के लिये विशिष्ट उत्पादन शून्य हो जाता है। T-s आरेख खींचिये तथा विभिन्न अवयवों के विन्यास का एक रेखाचित्र बनाइये।
An ideal simple gas turbine cycle is having a pressure ratio of r and a temperature ratio, defined as the ratio of maximum temperature to minimum temperature in the cycle, of t, and the ratio of specific heats of gamma. Show that the specific work output is maximum when the pressure ratio is such that the compressor outlet and turbine outlet temperatures are equal. Also, derive expressions for the two pressure ratios as functions of t and gamma, where the specific output becomes zero for a constant temperature ratio. Draw the T-s diagram and a sketch of the layout of the components.
